Mindo and the Northwest
Day 1, Arrival to Quito. Pick up transfer to Puembo Birding Garden.
Day 2, Early morning departure for Yanacocha, Lunch Yanacocha, Bird the Tandayapa valley and arrival to Alambi Reserve, enjoy the gardens and hundreds of hummingbirds, dinner, Overnight Alambi. (three meals included)
Day 3, Birding drive up to Bella Vista, lunch at Bella Vista for the species seen here. Roadside Birding the Tandayapa Valley, overnight Mindo.
Day 4, Early wake up to Angel Paz and his reserve where we will see the Cock of the Rock, up to 5 different Antpittas, and many other specialties of this valley. Breakfast at Angel’s, Bird the afternoon Mindo and its vast forest. Overnight Mindo.
Day 5, Day spent in Mashpi, lunch in Pacto, visit to the Oil Bird caves. Overnight Pacto.
Day 6, Morning in Mashpi, lunch in Pacto and return to Puembo Birding Garden.
Papallacta and Eastern Slope
Day 1, Arrival to Quito. Pick up transfer to Puembo Birding Garden.
Day 2, Pick up 6 am, full day Antisana reserve. Overnight Puembo Birding Garden.
Day 3, Pick up 6am, drive to Papallacta area with lunch box, Overnight Guango Lodge.
Day 4, Full day Guango area. Overnight Guango Lodge.
Day 5, After breakfast departure to San Isidro, birding on the way. Overnight San Isidro.
Day 6, Full day Guacamayos área. Overnight San Isidro.
Day 7, AM San Isidro. PM return to Puembo. Overnight at Puembo Birding Garden or flight at night back home.
